Product Specialist

Responsibilities included:
  • System specification. Working with the original system designer and assessing and implementing user feedback, drawing on my extensive experience with designing simple-to-use, intuitive interfaces for the control of complex and deep data structures.
  • Client workflow analysis and feedback into both development priorities and marketing focus.
  • Alpha testing software and hardware.
  • Producing user and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrating product and client liaison at international pro-audio tradeshows, including Broadcast Asia - Singapore, AES - San Francisco, IBC - Amsterdam, Plasa - London, Musik Messe - Frankfurt and many, many more.
  • Console commissioning, training and exploratory and research missions to both existing users and other market-leading studios.
  • Administrating Beta Testing programs and maintaining relationships with both beta clients as well as distributors internationally.
  • Planning and delivering marketing campaigns as well as producing and delivering resources such as brochures, promotional videos, web pages, screensavers and an image library.
2001 - 2003 FAIRLIGHT ESP
Assistant Product Manager responsible for launching the Fairlight DREAM console.
Responsibilities included:
  • Managing the development of new features from specification right through to release, in a close relationship with R&D Team.
  • Product specialist responsible for DREAM Console, the flagship Fairlight integrated mixing and editing surface.
  • Responsible for a complete overhaul of the Fairlight Beta program.
  • Release management.
  • Extensive software and hardware Alpha testing and software quality assurance.

  • Extensive international support for beta clients and field offices.

  • Implementing effective testing regimes.
  • Extensive change management and constant updating of test procedures.
  • Working with production to develop efficient and reliable production procedures.
  • Developing a coherent bug recording database, reporting and tracking system.
